This Privacy Policy explains how AllPDF.tools ("we", "our", "the app", "the service") handles information when you use our website at https://allpdf.tools or our Android application ("the app").

Short version: We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal data or your documents. All PDF processing happens entirely on your device. Files you open in AllPDF.tools never leave your device. The Android app contains no analytics or tracking of any kind. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits (see Section 7).

1. Who we are

2. Data we do NOT collect

The app and website are designed to work without collecting personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:

Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
The contents of PDFs, images, or other files you process
File names, metadata, or thumbnails of your documents
Your device's unique identifiers (beyond what Google Play requires for licensing)
Location data, contacts, SMS, call logs, or microphone input
Usage analytics or behavioral tracking in the Android app (the app contains no analytics SDK)

3. How your files are processed

Every PDF tool in the app (merge, split, compress, convert, OCR, scan, edit, sign, redact, protect, etc.) runs entirely on your device. Your files:

Are opened locally in the app's memory
Are processed using client-side libraries (pdf-lib, PDF.js, jsPDF, Tesseract.js, docx, SheetJS)
Are saved back to your device's storage when you export
Are never uploaded to any server, including ours

You can verify this by using the app with your device in airplane mode — every tool continues to work offline.

4. Information handled by the app

4.1 Camera access (document scanner)

When you use the built-in document scanner or "Image to PDF" tool, the app requests camera permission. Camera frames are used only for live preview and capture, and are processed on-device. No camera data is transmitted off the device.

4.2 Storage access

The app requests storage permissions so you can open PDFs and images from your device and save processed files back. Access is limited to files you explicitly pick.

4.3 Internet access

The app uses the internet only for:

Loading third-party JavaScript libraries from public CDNs (unpkg, cdnjs) on first use of certain tools
Processing in-app purchases via Google Play Billing (see Section 6)
Downloading OCR language data for the Tesseract OCR feature

No file contents or personal information are sent over the internet.

4.4 Local storage on your device

The app stores the following locally in your device's app-private storage (inaccessible to other apps):

Your Pro subscription or purchase state (for offline access to Pro features)
User preferences (theme, default export settings, recently used tools)
Temporary working files during PDF processing (automatically deleted)
Convenience state for a few tools: a draft of the values you type into a PDF form (kept until you save the form, at most 7 days), the last page you read in the reader, and the reader's night-mode setting

This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

5. Pro subscriptions and purchases

Pro features are unlocked via in-app purchases processed through Google Play Billing. When you make a purchase:

Payment is handled entirely by Google. We never see your card number, UPI ID, or bank details.
Google provides us with a purchase confirmation (a signed receipt) that the app uses to unlock Pro features.

6. Third-party services we use

Google Play Services — for Play Billing (in-app purchases). See Google's Privacy Policy.
Public CDNs (unpkg.com, cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — to load PDF processing libraries on first use. These CDNs may log IP addresses as part of standard web traffic. We do not control their logs.
AI model files (storage.googleapis.com, huggingface.co, cdn.jsdelivr.net) — a few optional features (ID photo background removal, hand/object cleanup in the scanner, table detection) download their on-device AI model the first time you use them. These are downloads only: no file contents are sent, and processing happens on your device. As with any download, these hosts may log your IP address.
Tesseract.js language data — OCR language files are downloaded from the Tesseract project on first OCR use. No file contents are sent; only the language file is downloaded.

7. Advertising and website analytics

The Android app contains no advertisements and no ad tracking SDKs. The website version at allpdf.tools displays Google AdSense banners; Google may set cookies for ad personalization on the website only. The app does not use AdSense or any other ad network.

The website only uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used. It records pages visited, tool actions (for example "file downloaded"), approximate country, and device/browser type, linked to a random identifier stored in a cookie. It never receives your files, file names or file contents. Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies. The Android app does not use Google Analytics.

8. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with information, contact us and we will confirm no such data exists (since we do not collect data at all).

9. Your rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are not applicable — there is nothing on our servers to access or delete. All your data lives on your own device and you control it directly by using Android's standard app controls (Settings → Apps → AllPDF → Storage → Clear Data).

If you believe we hold data about you, you may still contact [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Data transfers

The Android app transfers no personal data. On the website, Google Analytics and AdSense data is processed by Google, which may transfer it outside your country under its own safeguards. Purchases made through Google Play are processed by Google under their own international data transfer framework.

11. Security

Since your documents never leave your device, they are protected by your device's own security (lock screen, disk encryption, app sandboxing). The app uses Android's app-private storage for internal state, which other apps cannot read. Android 12+ backup exclusion rules prevent sensitive state (such as Pro entitlement) from being copied to cloud backups.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app's update notes and at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
